Ring-Tailed Lemur
Lemur catta
Ring-tailed lemurs grooming and taking in the early morning sun.
Ring-tailed Lemurs are unusual because the females lead the group. Most lemurs are found in the trees but Ring-tailed Lemurs spend large amounts of time patrolling the ground in the dry open forest of southern Madagascar.
You will often see Ring-tailed Lemurs soaking up the sun with their arms widespread in a worship-like posture. This behaviour is usually seen in the early morning or in colder temperatures.
